Hi all.
I managed to royally screw up my nice working qmail -r15 installation. I went to upgrade squirrelmail and didn't look too closely at the dependencies, and ended up updating qmail along with it. It was working except for SMTP-AUTH (which a lot of other people seemed to be having trouble with in -r16 too) but I thought a clean install might fix it, so I backed up my control dir and tcp.rules and had at it.
well that was last night. After the emerge, I cannot send mail from Squirrelmail (I haven't even tried remote clients yet). The error that continuously scrolls past in the qmail-send log is
alert: unable to opendir todo/0, sleeping...
what is going on here? I deleted the queue, ran queue-fix, that didn't help....chmodded the queue 777, did everything else I can think of and no go. I am getting desperate!!
the todo/0 die is owned qmailq/qmail, chmodded 777....????????????????????????? _________________ kalpol

I unmerged qmail, rebooted, emerged qmail and things worked much better. I can now receive and send email from squirreil mail but SMTP-AUTH isn't working at all. _________________ kalpol

Have you tried masking r16 and downgrading again? |

No....I haven't. Is that the recommended action to get SMPT-AUTH working? Looks like people are unable to get it working with r16. _________________ kalpol

It'd be MY recommended action. Whether it's THE recommended action is another question
I'm assuming someone's filed a bug if this is wide ranging? |
