Non capisco come mai tutto ad un tratto gaim si è crashato e da quel momento non vuole funzionare + dandomi il seguente errore:

quale versione di gaim?
hai provato a lanciarlo da consolle, per vedere se scrive solo quello o se lì aggiunge altro output?
in ogni caso ci deve essere dell'altro output, da qualche parte. dove questo sia dipende da come hai configurato il tuo logger |

prova gaim --debug
io comunque credo sia un problema delle gtk+ .... Avevo un problema simile e switchando alle instabili è tornato a funzionare...
Comunque prova una versione meno recente tipo la 1.3 o la 1.4
