I have a 2.8GHz Pentium with 1Gb DDR. In dmeg I get a message suggesting that I should use highmem but I think that I can do this in lilo with mem=. My question is what should I set this too? |

AFAIKK mem=xyz is only useful in case the kernel fails to recognize the amount of RAM correctly, e.g. in case it thinks you've got 32 MB but you've got 512. To actually use 1 GB of memory or more, you need highmem support enabled in the kernel. It probably doesn't have any advantages though. _________________ KDE |
