Hi there...
I just upgraded my System from a Duron 700 to an Athlon 2600+ with above Motherboard.
I did a complete new gentoo install, and ran into several problems (segfaults during compile of gcc and several other "large" packages, broken directory structures in ext3 (!!SEVERE!! ), and stuff like that)
The system is working over all, but there seems to be some problem with hard disk access or memory. I think it might be a problem with the harddrive, because it's also much to slow (PCMark reported 360 points, but the drive usually marks about 800-1000). But Seagate Harddrive tests (all, short, long...) reported no errors, so the drive has to be OK.
Any suggestions? Cabling? Weird BIOS options? BIOS update? Something in the kernel?
please help, I like my data ![Sad :(](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |

Try disabling DMA. If that doesn't work, then you have a hardware problem.
Also, have you used ATA work in progress????
Bye. |
