Dear all:

first of all, I prefer shorewall, but just in case my non-computer colleagues need firestarter, 8)
@ startup, but I got the following all the time:

I have a static net.eth0
#rc-update add firestarter default

Code:
Starting Firestarter
Starting eth0 ...
External network device eth0 is not ready, Aborting..             [!!]
Starting Automounter ...

in order to manipulate the startup order, I tried to modify /etc/init.d/firestarter

in the depend section
originally I had
need net
but then I tried need portmap (which seems to load after my eth0 is up)
after portmap
after net....

they all changed a little, but still fails to startup firestarter properly.

so............any ideas are greatly appreciated!

There is a known service ordering bug in baselayout-1.11 which may be what you're seeing. This has been solved in baselayout-1.12
