|
|
Hey everyone, I'm currently using Intel Pro Wireless 2200 to connect to my home network and the internet through a wireless cable modem. Everything starts up fine, I can access both my network and the internet. However, I will often suddenly lose connectivity and be unable to access anything. When I try to run /etc/init.d/net.eth1 restart it will typically hang as it runs dhcp. I'm at somewhat of a loss as to where I should start looking for solutions, if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. |

i am also having this problem. It seems to happen when there are multiple programs trying to get access to the internet. If i have kopete running, i can pretty much kiss my browsing goodbye. Or when i am loadinga web page, it seems that i cant send messages in kopete. Would this also seem somewhat similar to your problem?
I have asked this question befoe and never got an answer so i have bene hunting down the reason for ages... |

It doesn't immediately seem to be the case, I'm able to run firefox, gaim, limewire and play music from a mounted nfs filesystem at the same time. Are you using intel pro wireless too? What window manager are you running? I'm running enlightenment and I just encountered a segfault message, although it isn't immediately apparant that the two are connected. |

No i am on a wired connection. But I still have not got it to work (actually, i just recompiled kde and now my computer wont even boot up to my gentoo partition.) So i am a little annoyed at this point. |

it sounds like you are having a different problem than I am. My problem is that my connection drops all together and I can't restart my wireless device. It's starting to get quite maddening I can't figure anything out. I don't even know where to start looking to solve the problem. |
