|
|
Under the Desktop -> Preferences Menu in Gnome I have "Java Control Panel" listed twice. It's no big deal, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea what was causing this or how to get around it. I think it might be caused by having JRE and JDK both installed (both Sun's version) Thanks.

Happens to me too, maybe the older one is left from a previous version or something, don't know.
What version of Gnome? 2.12 has a menu editor, right-click the "Applications" button and select "Edit menus", or delete the duplicate files from /usr/share/applications.
Hope this helps. _________________ python>>> q="'";s='q="%c";s=%c%s%c;print s%%(q,q,s,q)';print s%(q,q,s,q)

Thanks for that. I'm an Ubuntu convert and wasn't using 2.12 until now. I've been using Smeg to edit my menus and didn't realize that 2.12 finally built an editor in. I'd still be curious to know why it has two entries. (It can't be residual because I just did a clean install, aka it was the first version of java I had on there.) |
