I'm looking for an SMTP server to sit in front of my Exchange Server and filter Spam and Virus. I'm interested in MailScanner or Mail Avenger but I don't see either in the Gentoo Package database. Am I missing something? Are there better alternatives?

I'm using Postfix with Amavisd-new (in Portage) and it uses Spamassassin to check/tag/clean spam and Clamav to scan for viruses and they both work well, I've had this setup for around a year and so far I and haven't had any problems.
Edit: Fixed typos. |

How beefy is the hardware you are running on? Do you have the Gentoo box in a DMZ? Sounds like an option. I'll look into it. Thanks!
Sean
P.S. I'm talking a small Church Email server. 25 Users or less. Probably around 1000/month out and 3000/month in.

Well, its not super beefy but beefy enough
a Pentium 4 with 1 GB of ram, 2.6 Ghz CPU and lots of harddrive space.
I'm not running this in a DMZ but forwarding the needed ports from my router to it. |
