Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to get the private ip adress from a wi-fi router once you're connected to its signal. I don't have any permisions to access to the router (it is a public router from my library), but its signal is public and I'm able to connect to it, I only need the router private ip adress to get everything working. It is not configured with DHCP, and the personel from the library does not know a thing about how to connect to it.
Thanks in advice!

have you tried any tools ? kismet for instance , or if you're connected you might want to sniff some traffic (tcpdump?), it's bound to transmit SOME packets into the ether :]
Now, I wonder why is it available since it has no potential uses? _________________ <input stupid message here> |

the tcpdump thing is a good idea. I'll try it out. I can see some packet transfers from the connection icon. Thanks for that, I will tell when I try!

The thing is that in the library there are two AP. When the library is open I can connect to the other one. When is exams period (like nowadays) the library offers special rooms for students. The library is closed, but these rooms are open for students, and then they only have one AP running, the one I can't connect to. The personel know they have 2 AP, and they told me that it should be the same way either to connect to the first or the second one. |
