I am installing Gentoo for the fourth time because I had not selected the proper stage3 for my system and other particular goofy errors. (Compaq presario, 915US, AMD Athlon-XP 1800, 40 gig HD, 512MB ram, NO FLOPPY, Teac DVD-RW, Synptics touchpad.) I have chrooted into my environment and now I am ready to install my GUI, or continue the process of finalizing my system. (I RTFM and don't see what the fuss is all about.) The installation was done with the minimal installation with a network. The first time I tried to install x11, I recieved errors. My question is, how do I post errors here that I can not figure out? I mean, I rather try to work my problems out before posting but if I really need to post, how can I do it without having to write everything down manually? Also, is there somewhere that someone can direct me, where I can read upon how to configure my system just for internet use and daily document work? (I may be new but I am not a nOOb.) I am not a programmer nor developer. I just want a more robust system for games and and daily use without a bloated system. _________________ Registered Linux User # 375419
