Hi guys,
After hours trying to find out why I don't have internet access in KDE, I eventually discovered that I have internet only as root. I'll soon change to another ISP, ADSL-based, and I decided I should explore rp-pppoe a little bit more before making the change, just to see how easy it is to setup ADSL in linux. My current connection is cable-based.
It turns out that adsl-setup messed up my system, and after restoring backups of resolv.conf I still don't have a proper connection. It must've created groups, or something. I don't know. How do I revert the changes?
I'm positive that /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/conf.d/net are in their original states, and everything looks good during boot, but I'm unable to explain why is root the only user with an internet connection :S
Any advices? This is kinda urgent. :\
EDIT: It turns out that rp-pppoe changed the permissions of /etc/resolv.conf . I changed them back so everyone could read it, and everything is fine now. Hope this helps someone. |
