Hello everybody...

After a rather frustrating battle with X, my Multihead-Gfx-Cards and kde i finally managed
to set up a running Dual-Head-Xinerama Xorg-server under Kde3.4

Unfortunately Windows are maximized across both screens, and new applications open between the two screens. The Xinerama Use flag had been set before, to be safe i even reemerged kde (i just did a "emerge kde" - meybe that wasn't enough ?!) and now the Xinerama works beautifully as root, but not as my standard user... So what am i to do now ?!?

Help would be appreciated..

PS: How can i emerge kde3.5 - that may fix the xinerama nightmare and give me a sexy new KDE as well ?!

Thank you very much for your help, but i solved it:

a simple
Code:

find /home/user/.kde/share/config -type "f" | xargs grep - "Xinerama"

found 4 relevant Variables in the Windows section:
Code:

[Windows]
XineramaEnabled=true
XineramaMaximizeEnabled=true
XineramaMovementEnabled=true
XineramaPlacementEnabled=true

After setting these variables to the value 'true' (as seen above)
everything worked as expected.

PS: Another question: how can i make my xplanet-created wallpaper appear on each single screen instead of having mother erath split across my 2 screens ?
