I have a SMB share in my fstab that is automatically mounted when I run my laptop at home. That's great.

Problem is, when I take that wireless laptop somewhere else, where it can't access that share, the boot sequence gets to "Mounting networked filesystems" and stays there. The system doesn't lock, but the operation NEVER TIMES OUT.

What can I do, short of not auto-mounting that share ever, to fix this?

Create a runlevel called "Home" and a runlevel called "NotHome" and don't have the netmount runlevel in "NotHome"

Change between runlevels at the console
Code:
rc home
rc notathome

Or on the kernel command line
Code:

softlevel=home
softlevel=notathome
