|

hello!
i am having some problems with my new external case for my DVD writer. lsusb says it is a genesys logic chip. the syslog says the device is claimed by the usb-storage driver. but i cannot access the device, because there is no entry in /dev and the automount functions of hald and dbus do not create a mountpoint.
the question is: do i need a special driver enabled in my kernel? if so, which one?

Maybe you're missing SCSI CD-ROM support (in the SCSI section of menuconfig) ? Or the module is not loaded (try "modprobe sr_mod"). The drive should appear as /dev/sr0. |
