invalid for init_env_arg_linit

hi guys i'm after a little bit of help,

i'm running thought the mips gentoo guide, and hitting the point of "make oldconfig" when i run this i get the following error

invalid for init_env_arg_linit
make[1]: *** [oldconfig] error 1
make *** [oldconfig] error 2

was wondering if anyone could help could help me out with some ideas on what i have done wrong,

if its of any help i downloaded the following config from "http://stuartl.longlandclan.hopto.org/gentoo/mips"

which i have uploaded as a text file to my web space and can be found here www.ebbeh.com/config.txt

Which version of the kernel have you got?

If you installed it via emerge mips-sources, do an ls of /var/db/pkg/sys-kernel, the mips-sources-VERSION should be one of the directories.
If you installed it from Linux/MIPS git, when did you do the git clone?

hi i just did a ls on /var/db/pkg/sys-kernel and it came back with the following

mips-headers-2.4.21-r3 and
mips-sources-2.6.14.6
