Hey all... I was messing with nested xfree sessions, and look at this...
notice anything? on my normal X session most of those menu options don't show up! (plus some icons are different and all)

any idea what could be happening? and how I could make my menu complete with those items that show up on the nested one?

I suspect you
logged in (started process gnome-panel (1))
then installed crossover
then did the xnest (started process gnome-panel (2)).
The second gnome-panel had to rebuild its menu options from scratch whereas the first session is still using the menus from when you first logged in. killing gnome-panel will cause it to rebuild its menus alternately you can load the imon modules and start up fam which will provide facilities for gnome-panel to notice when menu items get updated.

nope! I restarted more than twice after installing crossover... but it wasn't just crossover! the logout icons are different... anyway, I should mention that after running that xnest and taking that screenshot, I killed gdm and after logging in all the new menus were there! (except for the log-out and lock desktop and some more icons are still the same... but it seems the menus are the same now)
