hi

i've just upgraded baselayout sysvinit hal dbus to the new ones from today, and now hal doesn't detects plugged HW.
mount works OK with all the devices, and at the startup hald starts like usual without claiming errors, but when i put something like a pendrive, the /media/usbdisk directory doesn't appear anymore.

i've tried downgrading those packages to the previous versions but now those versions don't work either.

thanks for any help

Are hal and dbus really running?

# ps -fp $(pgrep hald; pgrep dbus)

Hello,

after trying updating the hal, emerging stopped with a message like "... kernel too old ...".
It should be a kernel >2.6.13 - great, I am using 2.6.12-gentoo-r10.
But the dbus was updated (to version 0.60-r3) ...
... but no /usr/bin/dbus-daemon could be found ...

So I downgraded dbus to version 0.23.4-r1.
But there was still no /usr/bin/dbus-daemon - so after rebooting (or /etc/init.d/coldplug restart) hal, dbus and ivman could not be started.

But I found a /usr/bin/dbus-daemon-1 8O .
Just a
Code:
cp /usr/bin/dbus-daemon-1 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon

and the system works again (with the old dbus version) ...
... so I should update the kernel ...

Sorry for too many but
