Every time I get an apache update, my index.html file gets overwritten. I have backups, so no permanent damage is done, but it is annoying to forget that, get an apache update, and have my web site appear to be under construction until I figure out what happened.
Can the ebuild be configured not to wipe my web site when an update to Apache comes down? |

In the German support boards is a solved thread with the same problem you have.
There it says that net-www/gentoo-webroot-default-0.2 is the reason.
You should have take a look on the use-flags before you emerge new software.
Quote: | [ebuild R ] net-www/gentoo-webroot-default-0.2 -no-htdocs 0 kB |
Make sure that -no-htdocs is set, otherwise the index file will be overwritten...
