|
|
if i were to allow a fourm as phpBB2(same as this one) it would have personal messages. and a mysql database, can I integrate this with like (sendmail or postfix or any MTA) and allow my users to use squirrelmail(already setup for internal mail) for my own personal email service with my domain ?
in other words can i allow my users to sign up(free of course ) allow them use forms messages posting and have their own email inbox all tied togther ?
thank you and if so recommend clients and different software u use or have seen ? |

All tied together mean what?
Take a look at Virtual Mailhosting Guide (seach it). You'll need to hack the database a little bit, so that the accounts' emails/logiins/passwds are read from the phpbb database not from the one you create. And that's it. Emerge eg. squirrelmail and let them login with the exactly the same login(email) and passwd they chose on the forums.
Not quite a safe solution (and idea...), but you asked for it;-)
If i misunderstood what you mean, please correct me. |

no that seems right on the ball. to have everything uniform for the user ?
what u recommnd they have seperate email adress and forum profile ?
i dont see how that would help security unless someone hacked them or me ? for the general user. i dont think it matters right now |
