I have CUPS set up on my laptop so I can print things to the network printers while I'm at school.
It's been set up that way for a few years now and I barely bother with changing the config (though I do update everything).

to my surprise when I checked the printer list today, there are about 50 other printers listed on other computers on my network(okay the schools network).
I have some guesses as to why other peoples printers are being sought out by my computer, but I really would just like it to only care about the
ones I configured locally.

Anyone have any clues on how to do this?

thanks in advance

Thanks, I just found it myself.

append to cupsd.conf:
Code:

BrowseDeny all

or

Code:

BrowseAllow none

Seems to work for me.. seems a silly setting to have on by default, but I guess it makes life easier if everyone is using cups ;-)
