Hello,
I am trying to install a 32 bit change root and am getting the following error after following the instructions at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/amd64/howtos/index.xml?part=1&chap=3. Anybody knows how to fix this?

I did. I get the same error. But only in the 32 bit environment |

yes /usr/portage is mounted -bind. |

Not exactly. I am on portage 2.0.54 and the bug is for <2.0.51.20. I tried their fixes but didnt work |

I had this problem, too, while following the AMD64 32-bit chroot guide.
I was able to solve it by emerging portage first (while in the chroot environment), before emerging world. It worked in my case. |
