I've been playing with Beta 5 for a while now.
I'm playing a player made module called Shadow Lords,
currently in chapter 2 of this. It's realy good, some say even better than the single player game. |

using Beta6...I kinda miss the speed I got without server browsing (not speed of the game...speed of getting to my servers...which are all on my direct connect/history list)....oh well. _________________ while(true) {self.input(sugar);} |

i use that rage installer and for some reason it seems as if it would skip alot of files. I read about that, and manually extracting the cabs of cd1 but still 20 files are missing , including chitin.key, i have no clue where it is, i extracted the cab files from cd1 as mentioned in a tutorial here still this file is missing. also when running the installed it prompts for all 3 cds but actually it only copies files from CD3! IT seems to do NOTHING with the other 2 cds!
when i try to run nwn i get the sdl segfault (which i think is due to those missing files) |

I just installed beta 6 (modified the beta 5 ebuild a bit) and it works just fine... EXCEPT...
Is there anyway to make a launcher in Gnome? If I try to execute "nwn" anywhere outside of the /usr/share/games/nwn folder I get this:
Code: | Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed) |
I was getting another error before that but then I modified "nwn" a little:
Code: | #!/bin/sh
# This script runs Neverwinter Nights from the current directory
export SDL_MOUSE_RELATIVE=0
export SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0
# If you do not wish to use the SDL library included in the package, remove
# ./lib from LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/share/games/nwn/lib:/usr/share/games/nwn/miles:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
/usr/share/games/nwn/nwmain $@ |
How do I make a shortcut/link that'll execute from Gnome without taking a dump?
When I run "nwn" from /usr/share/games/nwn everything works just fine so my issue is really minor. _________________ Repeat after me! This world is made of love and peace! |

I put this in /etc/X11/Sessions/nwn so kdm lists it, though obviously it could be anywhere :
Code: | #!/bin/bash
cd /usr/share/games/nwn
./nwn

Hum, still no luck getting this game working. I always get the sdl parachute error and the various solutions proposed here to solve it doesn't seem to solve it. Except that I run a development kernel and not a gaming kernel, maybe I should try gaming sources.
My /opt/nwn/nwn file is just the the same as cult hero's one (except that the nwn folder is now in /opt).
Regards,
Sébastien.
[EDIT] OK I figured it out: just cd to /opt/nwn and THEN type ./nwn. |
