irq problem...

hi,

i installed a zip drive and compiled the module imm, also i installed an extra hard drive and i've put one more piece of ram into my server. Since I did that, the server frequently (within a few hours) 'hangs' and the message 'IRQ16 has been disabled' shows on my terminal. I can still log in and stuff, but if i type reboot or shutdown the server doesnt react, also i cant acces my webserver etc... I've disabled the module imm (in make menuconfig) and did again the 'make modules && make modules_install' ... now the server has been running for a couple of days without a problem, but now again the same problem appeared: the message 'IRQ16 hqs been disabled' ans the server simply hangs...

I really don't know what to do right now, do you guys know what i should do, or how i could resolve this issue? Your help would really be appreciated...

Have you tested your memory (memtester or memtest86+) http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=memtest
Have you removed the newly installed memory and tried running to see if it hangs?
Search these forums for more information about how to run the tests using the above utils.

Nope, sorry... removing the ram did not solve the problem... again it reported "IRQ16 disabled" after a day... another suggestion perhaps? Thanks in advance...
