I have been askedto start making aleternatives to windows servers that we have running in the office but that all the features will be accesible to windows machines . I find understanding some of the wya linux uses things very complicated i would be very greatful
what i need to achive is
a file server with shares and permissions (which i have achived so far)
an alternative to microsoft exchange server
a proxy internet server
can i connect linux dns to widows dns ?
also can i have linux as a main domain controller to windows machines
and i have also achived the web server
if there are any guides or help people could give me i would be greatful thank you |

Im actaully not to sure about exchange but just wnat to be able to deliver mail to windows machine in a secure way any recomendations on what you would perosnally use and thanks for the how twos |

for mail: I'd recommend to stick with RFC-standards. Personally I use SMTP to send mail and IMAP to receive it. All mail is stored on the server, and can be accessed from wherever I want.
As for security: I have TLS set up for both, and users need to log in to send/receive mails. |
