|
|
I've got a Compaq Presario V2311US laptop (Turion 64). Of the function buttons, F1-F12, some send a signal(or whatever you call it) and the result is seen from "dmesg".
The 2 function buttons that control screen brightness freeze the system completely. I'm hoping one of you smarter-than-i people can point me in a direction, any direction, on getting information on why this happens.
I'm not very familiar with Windows, but I suppose that might be a good starting place to try and "capture" whatever the brightness keys do.
Or worse yet, it's a BIOS issue, in which case I'm up crap creek without a paddle.
Ideas? _________________ www.bearscanfly.org - Because hiking is cool

jebus, I don't know what fixed this issue, the backlight / lcd modules, the emerge system, or the BIOS update, but my backlight is adjustable now. now if I only had beer... _________________ www.bearscanfly.org - Because hiking is cool |
