|
|
When I run mount /mnt/cdrom I get this:
Code: |
Hal root # mount /mnt/cdrom
mount: special device /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 does not exist
|
I did what a cdburning FAQ said to do and disabled IDE CD-Rom support, so I'm curious if that is the probelm. But I do have all this SCSI stuff in it, like SCSI emulation and what not, so that should work. Anyways if anyone could help that would be great. |

Do you have hdx=ide-scsi (where x= b, c or d depending on your cdrom setup) in your grub.conf?
What does "dmesg" report with regard to your ide &/or scsi devices?
What kernel are you running? Gentoo-Sources 2.4.20-r1 has been seen to have ide-scsi emulation issues by myself and others.
There's a wealth of info in this thread. |

I have append="hdb=ide-scsi" in my Lilo.conf.
Code: |
hdb: HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8240B, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hdc: TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1212, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
|
My DVD (hdc) has never been working.
I am running gaming-sources 2.4.20. I'll check that thread out now and see what I can. |

My entry in /etc/fstab:
Code: | /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 |
The "user" enables user-mounting of devices. _________________ linux user 65882 |
