Hi
I use wine 0.9.6 ~amd64 and i try to put Steam with CS 1.6.
So I use ALSA Kernel and oss emulation. but on wine i can't chose OSS although XMMS with OSS works fine.(my driver is intel8x0)
The only issue to have sound is to put "Direct sound with Emulation and [X] Emulation driver" and the result is to play with 6.8fps max.
I try to change configuration with Full or basic ... i have 1 time No sound and cs work, or Freeze on launch game : i have the background of cs1.6 but i havent the menu.
if i try without Sound driver i have 100fps block.
I always have this debug if it can help you :)

Code:

ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1109:(_snd_pcm_dmix_open) Unknown field ipc_gid
ALSA lib pcm_dsnoop.c:795:(_snd_pcm_dsnoop_open) Unknown field ipc_gid

So Can you Help me?
Thanks

Flav

why dont you use CEDEGA ? cedega is known for working well with cs1.6 and even cs-source..

but my experience was that cedega is running fine with ati and nvidia but i am not sure, if it already works with AMD64 ?

i also try from time to time wine (0.9 - 0.9.6) but the best result was far away from STABLE ! i tried with athlonxp2500 and also with p3-1000, cedega does a MUCH bether job right NOW !

do you still have the same problem with wine-0.9.15 ? i know since ~wine.9.10 theres a better audio managment in wine(winecfg).

would be nice to know, i want to change to athlon64 too :D

how is the speed in CounterstrikeSource ? in cedega i had with athlon2500+geforce128mb6600agp-256ddr only 62fps in Speedtest...

with 0.9.14 and 0.9.15 STEAM + CS1.6 is stable and very playable...
