I have just recently purchased a acer aspire 5002 WLCi. After installing gentoo64 I moved on to tweaking the system for power management. The ondemand cpu stepper works great, but my acpi is all messed up. I have read around that it is due to a buggy dsdt. I have tried fixing it myself but have had no luck in getting to to work in the kernel with the custom dsdt. I was wondering if anyone has fixed this problem? _________________ Only individuals have a sense of responsibility. |

I don't have the same model as you...I have a TravelMate 8104WLMi but I managed to fix mine by get a new DSTD from the linux ACPI site.
http://acpi.sourceforge.net/
If you browse through their fixes it does look like they have one for your laptop....

Check the BIOS version...you might want to upgrade your BIOS too if there is a newer version available. _________________ AMD 64 3500+, 2Gb RAM DDR400, 2 x 180Gb SATA, 256Mb Nvidia |

I have an acer aspire 5024 and acpi works for me if I include the following kernel option in grub.conf |
