Is it possible to get the IP address of the default DNS server from linux kernel in Java?
(P.S. I am already able to get this info from /etc/resolv.conf but I don't want to use that file)

Ehm... Everything in linux uses that file you know.. If your DNS server isn't in that file, you wont dns anything :-) The Linux Kernel itself doesn't have the dns server in his memory to my knowledge, and even if it has, it would read it from that file, so use it :-)
