Hallo zusammen,
ich habe ein kleines Problem damit, dass meine swap-Partition zu klein ist. Das führt immer wieder dazu, dass die Übersetzung größerer Software wie beispielsweise Eclipse fehlschlägt. Da das allmählich nervt, steht der Entschluß fest die swap-Partition zu vergrößern. Nur wie mach ich das am schlauesten ohne das ganze System neu aufsetzen zu müssen?
Meine Partitionen sehen wie folgt aus:

Da es nicht so trivial ist, die swap-Partition größer zu machen, war meine Überlegung einfach hinten von der /dev/hda7 ein wenig weg zu nehmen und dort eine zweite swap-Partition zu machen, sofern das überhaupt zulässig ist. Falls nicht, würde ich dort eine große swap-Partion machen und /dev/hda3 wegnehmen.
Aber die Frage ist halt wie mach ich das am besten. Auf /dev/hda7 ist mein root-Verzeichnis drauf und die Auslastung liegt bei 24 GB. Ist es irgendwie möglich hinten etwas freien Platz abzuzweigen für eine neue Partition ohne die Partition zu löschen?
Über ein wenig Hilfe würde ich mich freuen. |

Leg doch einfach ein Swapfile an und vergiss die Swappartition.
Laut Andrew Morton (2.6 Kernel Maintainer) ist ein Swapfile genau so schnell wie eine Swappartition, wenn das Swapfile nicht fragmentiert ist.
