I've been working on this problem for a long time without any success. I'm asking for help now that I've exhausted my mind. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem?

-Dell Inspiron 6000
-BIOS Rev. A09 (upgraded from A06 when this problem began)
-Kyocera KPC650 (Verizon Wireless) PCMCIA
-Gentoo 2005.1 (updated often)
-Kernel 2.6.15 from gentoo-sources r1 (>=2.6.12 have been attempted)
-Module parameters 'ohci_hcd.no_handshake=1' and 'usbcore.old_scheme_first=Y' were tweaked with no effect.
-ACPI and APIC enabled or disabled, problem still occurs.
-USB (lsusb) does not see the card.
-I have tested this card on the same laptop with a different linux distribution (slax and ubuntu) resulting with the same problem.
-I have tested this card on different laptops and it works with linux or windows.

Here's the dmesg output after the card is inserted:
