I was able to set up my swap-file as instructed by NIgel on developers-suspend2 mailing list, i was able to suspend with the nvidia driver from X with out any xhacks, and it suspended WAY faster than the swap writer (i cant wait to get it 100% working) but havent been able to resume. On resume I get a Big Fat Warning about Incorrect Kernel Version.

Has anyone been able to get the file writer working?

Ever find a solution to this? I followed the instructions on Gentoo-Wiki, but this is what I get:
Code:
Suspend2 2.2-rc16: Filewriter: File signature found.
Suspend2 2.2-rc16: Suspending enabled.
=== Suspend2 ===

BIG FAT WARNING!! Incorrect kernel version.

If you want to use the current suspend image, reboot and try
again with the same kernel that you suspended from. If you want
to forget that image, continue and the image will be erased.
Press SPACE to reboot or C to continue booting with this kernel

Default action if you don't select one in 25 seconds is: continue booting.
Suspend2 2.2-rc16: Image invalidated.

Switched to swap writer, and the problem went away!

aargh, I get the same thing. The problem is I just went from 256Mb to 1Gb of ram, so my 512M swap partition is no longer big enoulgh to suspend to.

You might be able to get away with compressing the file. You must have the kernel configuration option enabled, and the add the compression option in your /etc/hibernate/hibernate.conf file.
Code:
CONFIG_CRYPTO_LZF=y

and in hibernate.conf:
Code:
Compressor lzf

If anybody can figure this out, I'm still interested. I'd prefer to suspend to a file than the swap space.

Is there anything special that i need to enable for that to show up? It's not in the menuconfig. I am using 2.6.15-no1.

Nevermind...I think I got it by manually editing the .config (my bad).
