I take it that you want to shape download bandwidth. You can do that, but keep in mind that shaping / prioritizing upload bandwidth is much more important than what you download, since you hardly have any influence over what other people send you. That said, you could try your luck with IMQ, which emulates a virtual device that can be used for shaping packets. With it you can put all received packets onto this virtual device and shape them there using HTB. However, a simple ingress queue that drops anything that comes in too fast (to make sure that no queues build up on the ISP side) may be just as effective. |
