How important is NLS? I have been emerging things with "-nls" as i dont need any language support other then english. Will this create any issues?

Not really. I've been using -nls for years w/o any problems. I recently re-enabled it for full UTF-8 support. It's not necessary for most applications to have NLS unless you use multiple languages and want your software to handle that.
