Premetto che ho da sempre una scheda NVIDIA che ha sempre funzionato alla perfezione...
ora da qualche settimana il frame buffer impazzisce dopo che viene avviato xorg...
al posto del testo visualizzo rettangolini di vario colore assolutamente sparsi... xorg invece continua a lavorare alla grande...
nel caso potrei postare il link ad una foto del monitor con framebuffer impazzito;
ps. non passando la variabile vga all'avvio del kernel va tutto alla perfezione e riesco a vedere i terminali anche dopo aver avviato xorg... questo mi fa pensare a qualche problema con il framebuffer...
ora un po' di copy and paste...

Sono fenomeni che accadevano al mio portatile, prima che il supporto dei driver nvidia fosse completo. A te invece, si presenta un caso di regressione.
Comunque, allora caricavo il modulo nvidia con un paio di opzioni particolari, sugggerite direttamente dalla documentazione della casa madre.
Per attivare le opzioni, mettevo questa linea in /etc/modules.d/nvidia e poi davo modules-update:

per ovviare a questo problema... sta sera quando torno a casa saprò dirvi qualcosa in più...
