Not that they will get any money for gentoo or anything, I just wanted to be sure that all Gentoo users and LQ members saw the LQ.org members choice awards voting for best distribution: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=409010
Let's prove that the Gentoo community is as strong as we all believe. |

I did my voting. Here is what I voted for (that I can remember):
Best Distribution: Gentoo
Best Office Suite: OOo.org
Best Audio App: XMMS
Best Video App: Xine
Best Text Editor: vim
Best Shell: bash
Best Window Manager: Fluxbox
Best Browser: Firefox
::EDIT:: Matir?? I think I remember the help you were giving me on IPTables on LQ. Welcome to Gentoo Forums |

Thanks. I've been lurking around here for a while, just more active over on LQ since I'm not (yet) an exclusively Gentoo man... some of my machines just can't handle it, and until I get cross-compilation working well on distcc, they may stay away from gentoo, sadly. |

What do you mean "they can't handle it"? Does it take to long to compile or something? Just wondering. |

Yeah, one of my boxes is OLD (P1/133). The time to compile is just too ridiculous, and the only reason I still use it is because it has 8 SCSI cd-rom drives in it, from which I export the disks via SMB and NFS. At some point I'll just move those disks to images on another computer, but for now it just sits there with Debian. |
