Looks like Framebuffer issues to me.

Maybe you should start by removing framebuffer devices from your kernel.

I'm not the linux expert, but framebuffers are used by your graphic card to display graphics. (correct me if I'm wrong)

How would you go about to find them?
well comment out the following line in /usr/src/linux/.config:
Code:
CONFIG_FB=y

And just about any entry commencing with CONFIG_FB that follows (just to be sure)

and then of course recompile the kernel.

good question. I don't know. I don't use genkernel.

What you can do is following:
Code:

genkernel --menuconfig all

This will bring up the menuconfig menu.
go to
Device Drivers >> Graphics Support

Remove the star or M from 'Support for frame buffer devices'

You could mount your windows (NTFS won't work! only fat32)drive when booting the Gentoo LiveCD...
Code:

mkdir /mnt/winxp
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/winxp

Or do the same with a USB disk or so.

I use this driver when I need Windoze, and I need to access my linux data:

http://www.fs-driver.org/

Maybe thet'll help you out.
