|
|
Has anyone had any success with ide-scsi and the newest kernel? I'm getting the same problem that I've found several other places in the forums (cdrecord can't find /dev/pg*). I've left out the atapi-cdrom part of the kernel completely, just to make things simpler. I've heard several places that SCSI and the new development kernels aren't working well together yet, but does anyone have this working? I'd really like to keep this kernel with its performance stuff, but I wanna burn cds! Thanks,

I didn't have much success with ide-scsi under 2.5 either, but I managed to get cdrecord working with dev=/dev/hd* .
Of course, gui front-ends won't be very happy with this _________________ Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.

yes!!!
only with mm2-2.5.65, i can enable the module ide-scsi. But, before doing "cdrecord -scanbus", i had to make a "MAKEVEV sg" in /dev.
With the last kernel (mm3-2.5.65), i cannot do "MAKEDEV sg" anymore because devfs prevent me to do that. |

Hm, that's interesting. I'm using the mm3 kernel right now, but maybe if this doesn't work I'll give mm2 a try...

ide-scsi works alsa with mm3-2.5.65 only if i don't build ide-cd (module ou kern-built)
With this kernel, devfs seems to work: i have hdX in my /dev whereas in the prior versions i only had discs/discY/partY. |

Well I finally got it working. I ended up going back to 2.5.65 standard because of devfs troubles with the -mm kernels. Thanks for the help!
