Ok, I bought this printer recently and had it installed ok using the instructions found here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-386003-highlight-laserjet+1022.html
The printer seems correctly installed under cups and all the options are available. I can print just fine but the problem comes when i try double sided printing (either long or short edge). If i try double sided printing the printer prints the first side (i.e. odd pages) and waits for some 2 or 3 secs before starting for the other side. The bad thing is that this small period of time is not enough for me to get the pages from the top of the printer (from where the come out printed) and put them in tray 2 where i should so that the other side is printed. As a result, the printer sees tray 2 empty and continues the printing from tray 1 (blank pages) so i dont get double sided printing .
Under Window$ i got to press the printer button for the 2nd side to start printing so there's enough time for me...
Is there anyone experiencing the same issue?? Is it printer specific or any HP printer has it under linux (this is the first time i get to have a laser printer so i dont actually know a lot... ).
thanks in advance! |
