I have an embarrasing problem.

I managed to get Kopete to sutostart with KDE some weeks ago. I have now installed fluxbox, and Kopete still autostarts.
I have decided that I want to use gaim instead of Kopete, but I can't find where the setting is to autostart Kopete.
I have searched the menus and browsed a lot of files in my home directory. Can't find anything that could turn the autostart off...

How do I stop Kopete from starting everytime I log in? What is the best way to make gaim start instead?

Yes.
Kopete starts when I start fluxbox or KDE.

The most obvious places to look are "~/.xinitrc" and "~/.xsession". Failing that it looks like "~/.Xclients" could get called, though I'd never heard of it before.

"~/.xinitrc" contains only one line.
"~/.xsession" and "~/.Xclients" does not even exist...

Code:
~ $ cat .xinitrc
exec startkde
~ $ ls -alF
total 21809

First thing is look at how your sessions are managed. If you have restore the last session, then you just need to close kopete and it will go away next time you login. Maybe though you are restoring a default session everytime, so if kopete is part of that you need to create a new one. Otherwise check your ~/.kde/Autostart directory.

Thanks!
I finally figured it out. I should have thought of it earlier.
Just logged into KDE and shut kopete off and then logged out.

The reason why I didn't notice this behavour earlir is that I never use KDE with my user anymore.

Annoying that fluxbox can't manage the session the same way. Where is this session specific information saved in KDE?
