i've followed the guide to install artwiz fonts from fluxbox.org
then put
xset +fp $HOME/.fonts
under /etc/Sessions/fluxbox

(the fonts are in $HOME/.fonts)
and i have set
[exec] (aterm) {export LC_ALL=pl_PL; export LANG=pl_PL;exec-aterm}

then restarted font server:
/etc/init.d/xfs restart

nothing happened.
logout, login, still nothing happens.

anything else i need to do?

x11-misc/artwiz-fonts-2.4

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge artwiz-fonts

In XFree86 config file:
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/artwiz/:unscaled"

I think these 3 lines should explain enough :)

Eh, do you even know how portage worked? :)

I showed you the package name and how to emerge it.
And what to add into your X config.
That's all and fluxbox should be working fine displaying the correct fonts.

yep did that.
now how do i use it?
do i have to use "artwiz" style? sorry but my knowledge to this is very minimal.
like by default, it'd just run the default fonts.
so i'm not sure how to set it up so that i'm using the artwiz fonts.
thx

Did you try restarting X? You should see the fonts in programs like fontsel. then you can start using the fonts in programs using the path displayed in fontsel (ie: -artwiz-smoothansi-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*)

Click on the first word "fndry" than choose artwiz than the next word and choose the font family.. and so on.

In some fluxbox styles or any .*box styles they don't have the complete font thingy written, for example just snap.
On my computer this doesn't work, doesn't show the correct font.
So use xfontsel to choose the fully correct font and replace it in the style.

for example replace snap in the style with
-artwiz-snap-medium-*-normal-*-10-100-75-75-*-90-*-*
and restart the windowmanager or reselect the style or if you are paranoid, restart x :)

- sorry for my english, I suck at it when I need to explain things :)

yeah okay...i ran xfontself
did -artwiz-snap-medium-*-normal-*-10-100-75-75-*-90-*-*
then quit, but it seems like it doesn't save it.
restarted X, came back, check again with xfontself, it loads up the default again.

actually i put that line under the style in
/usr/share/commonbox/styles/artwiz
then it works but then it only shows the artwiz fonts on the menu.
what if i want to use it in my terminal ?

Code:
xterm -fn -artwiz-snap-medium-*-normal-*-10-100-75-75-*-90-*-*

Yes, style settings in *box will only affect the menus, titlebars, etc. since those are the only things the window manager controls.

I followed the guide on Fluxbox homepage but instead of putting
$ xset +fp $HOME/.fonts
in my .xsession as the guide says, i put
$ xset +fp $HOME/.fonts/artwiz
and worked.
maybe the file fonts.dir in $HOME/.fonts should be modified to point to artwiz directory or something?
