What would the problem be? _________________ Michael

Not sure if this will take care of your problem or not...but what about disabling the onboard sound in bios. I am not up to speed on the IRQ sharing thing, but I notice the sound card and ethernet adapter are sharing the same IRQ, will that cause a conflict? I have never played with it much, but I think you can assign IRQ using the setserial command. |

Yeah, that damn ethernet card gave me problems with conflicts in my other computer also. I'm not sure if it's the driver (making it a bug) or what. That's why I'm not sure if this bug is related: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4773 because I was wondering if I should post a report. I don't post them too often so I wouldn't know what to post/do.
What would I do with setserial? _________________ Michael |

Yeah...n/m that one...that was way off base! That command is for changing IRQ's of serial devices, don't believe that would work for pci's.

Switching positions with the ethernet card (as in PCI slots) made everything work. How strange. _________________ Michael |
