I just updated to the 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 kernel, from the 2.6.14-r4. I editing my grub.conf so it looks like this:
Code: | default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title=Gentoo Linux 2.6.15-r1
root (hd0,0)
kernel /kernel-2.6.15-gentoo-r1 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk=8192 real_root=/dev/hda3 udev
initrd /initrd-2.6.15-gentoo-r1
title=Windows 2000
root (hd0,3)
makeactive
chainloader +1 |
I changed the 2.6.14-gentoo-r4 to 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 in the/initrd and /kernel sections of the grub.conf file. However, when I boot, I get the error 15 saying that i cant find my kernel. Did I do something wrong? _________________ Registered Linux User #387568

*bump* Well, I changed my grub back to its old settings, and as it turns out, it works! Thats great and everything, but for some reasons, my kernel won't upgrade. I do an emerge-gentoo sources, and it shows that I get the latest version of the kernel, but it doesn't install it for some reason. Why might this be? _________________ Registered Linux User #387568
