I've been using an xboxhdm slackware distro with fatx support and a utility to automatically lock/unlock the xbox drive with the eeprom.
Is there a way that either A.) I could have fatx and that drive utility in gentoo or B.) I could build a different kernel with just support for that on my current setup? _________________ Sysadmin by trade, geek by choice

there wouldnt be any reason that would stop you from building the tool on another machine, since the xbox is just x86
as for the fatx support, 2.6 is still shaky, but 2.4 has good support for it, so you should be fine using a 2.4 kernel _________________ http://www.whatsinyourbox.org -- Technology discussion, news, and more. |

So you're telling me that there is available fatx support in 2.4 kernels?
Because I'll go back to 2.4 if I know that I can work with the xbox hdd... _________________ Sysadmin by trade, geek by choice

Please Note:
This is for my XBOX's locked fatx drive. I am not asking about a kernel to run linux within my xbox. I am asking about what I would need to do to have support for fatx in my computer's kernel. This really shouldn't be in alternate arch's... _________________ Sysadmin by trade, geek by choice
