Bluetooth headset devices all work the same and should all work the same. The only problems you would encounter are if the manufacture doesn't properly conform to the spec.

I don't know wether it's true or not, but someone in this thread (page 6) claims that you need a CSR Chip based Bluetooth dongle for this purpose.

I have read similar things about compatible chipsets, etc.

Has anyone got it working with skype? What headset/dongle did you use?

I have a "Billionton" bluetooth doogle (CSR Chip) working together with a "Logitech" Mobile F-0228A" bluetooth headset.

The sound quality is fair when using skype.

The "Billionton" doogle is old and slow and only support bluetooth protocol v1.1. Look for a doogle that supports v1.2 or v2.0 for better sound quality. The CSR Chipset is known to work under linux.

You can find a list of bluetooth headsets working under linux at http://bluetooth-alsa.sourceforge.net/

Best regards
Lars

I am aware of that list, however I have yet to find a compatibility list of dongles.

Will just anyone work?
