OK< I got my Wallstreet booted.
I installed a brand new 40gb hard drive. I installed OS9 on a 400mb partition and installed bootX. That's all that partition has on it.
I left the remaining 38gb untouched.
Now, I run mac-fdisk, and here are the partitions it shows me:
Quote: | /dev/hda
# type name length base ( size ) system
/dev/hda1 Apple_partition_map Apple 63 @ 1 ( 31.5k) Partition map
/dev/hda2 Apple_Driver43 Macintosh 54 @ 64 ( 27.0k) Driver 4.3
/dev/hda3 Apple_Driver43 Macintosh 74 @ 118 ( 37.0k) Driver 4.3

I hit c to create a partition, enter 3p for swap space, 512M for length, and swap for the partition name, and here's where the error comes in. Here it is:

Here is the information on the hard drive:

No errors in dmesg that pertain to the hard drive.
Now what? |

3p means the 3rd partition. That's not a free partition. Use 10p since that's the free partition on your drive. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |

That got it! Thanks!!
Now, a new problem...
Whenever I emerge gentoo-sources, I get this:
Quote: | QA Notice: awk in global scope: sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.14-r7 |
It does this for r1 through r7 and fills SEVERAL pages with this!
What gives? |

OK, I let the system run for about 45 minutes with this message, and it finally grabbed r8 for me...
I now have another issue to worry about...
When I boot, I get the following errors:
Quote: | cardmgr[5786]: watching 2 sockets
cardmgr[5786]: could not adjust resource: IO ports 0x1000-0x1fff: Input/output error
cardmgr[5786]: could not adjust resource: memory 0x90000000-0x9003ffff: Input/output error
|
It's not a huge deal, but some cards won't work in it.
Any ideas out there? |

Thanks. I'll try that in a little bit...
Right now I've got another problem that has shown up.
In dmesg, I get pages and pages of this:
Quote: | evbug.c: Event. Dev: adb2:2.c3/input, Type:0, Code: 0, Value 0
evbug.c: Event. Dev: adb2:2.c3/input, Type:1, Code: 50, Value 1
evbug.c: Event. Dev: adb2:2.c3/input, Type:0, Code: 0, Value 0
evbug.c: Event. Dev: adb2:2.c3/input, Type:1, Code: 18, Value 0
|
And so forth...
Any ideas on what this is? |

I've adjusted my /etc/pcmcia/config.opts correctly, but I'm still getting this error.
I can't use my wifi card until I get this working.
Any more ideas? |
