Hey,
I have a laptop that was working great until a few weeks ago at which time it would occastionally stop responding every few seconds. I found that if I unload my network module (tg3) from the kernel then it fixed the problem. I tried upgrading to a new kernel, but that did not fix the problem. I don't remember making any changes to the system that would affect this in any way. Here is the output from a dmesg:

I still do have the problem. I don't use the wired ethernet port often so I haven't really tried to fix it. _________________ It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish. -Mother Teresa |

What kernel are u using? There were some big changes in last kernels in the tg3 code I think... _________________ Workstation: 5.1 SurroundSound, LIRC remote control; Laptop [IBM-T43]: patched sources, s2disk/ram, fingerprint sensor |
