I require some help here,
I have Acer Travel Mate 4152 NLCi. Will it be fully compatible with gentoo. It should be . It came pre loaded with Linpus Linux. One more problem. The hard disk is quite noisy. The hard diskis Toshiba MK6025GAS. Can something be done. I have read a few forums and all the other owners are also complaining about its noisiness. It si creating hell lot of irritation. The lappy has inbuilt mic just near the hdd so when i record something the noisy hdd butts in. |

If it did come preinstalled with another version of linux on it then most likely it will work with gentoo. It will just be a matter of knowing which hardware drivers to compile in the kernel. Follow the installation document closely and everything should work out just fine, if you get stuck search the forum to see if someone has already solved a similar problem  |
