I really didn't know where to post this, i can't start kde so I put it here, here is the problem:
when i boot the system it gives me this when running dhcpcd: Code: | /lib/rcscript/net.modules/dhcpcd: eval: line 126: unexpected EOF while looking for matching '`'
/lib/rcscript/net.modules/dhcpcd: eval: line 127: syntax error: unexpected end of file |
and after i log in as root it says this: Code: | -bash: /etc/profile.env: line 28: unexpected EOF while looking for matching '`'
-bash: /etc/profile.env: line 29: syntax error: unexpected end of file |
when i try startx, it reports an error about some inter-process communications and says it couldn't read /root/.DCOPserver_localhost__0
I was trying to fix alsa before this happened so i just recompiled the kernel with emu10k1 support and i also modified the xorg so that it will be 24-bit default color, then when i rebooted, i got this error...please gimme some clue where did i go wrong and how to rectify it, i need to fix this before tomorrow, ask for any info you want...Thanks in advance
EDIT:....sorry guys...my own stupid mistake...the answer is here
just a reminder....NEVER EVER put single quotes on your hostname _________________ Regards,
