How about reading the Gentoo 2005.1 Handbook? Or how about looking at Compaq Servers and Linux

Most of the stuff is configured in the kernel directly. Other stuff (like the Linux agents) can be found directly on the HP site.

Dear all,
Thanks for your hrlp so far, but I have several questions :
1. You said before that you had install a Compaq Proliant machine with Gentoo, which one of the boot loader did you used, GRUB or LILO?
2. If I have a Compaq Proliant 8000 system which consist of 4 SCSI harddisk and configured with RAID 5, how to configure GRUB bootloader (please let me know by step by step guidelines..)
Thanks.

1) I used GNU Grub
2) Uff! The forum is full of How-To install GNU Grub on a SMART Array Controller. It is not a big issue at all. But writing here again a How-To is a waste of time. You better use the search functionality of the forum.
cheers
